Danny Davis has over 30 years experience as executive in his own firms and as executive mentor and innovation coach in commercial, government and NFP organisations of all sizes. He is on the Board of La Trobe University Faculty of Business Economics and Law, Bialik College (K-12), the Victorian Abalone Central Zone interim board, the Standards Australia committee for the development of international IT governance standards, and a number of commercial companies. He is completing a PhD in advanced Governance practices at La Trobe University.
Danny is expert in the effective business application of technology, digital disruption, business innovation and strategic agility in mature stage Australian organisations. He is passionate about creating well run, effective organisations that maximise the use of funding and community passion in achieving their purpose.
Lars Schiphorst – Deputy Chairperson
Lars is a management consultant with over 30 years experience in the strategic design and delivery of fundamental business and technology change. He has broad-based experience gained with a wide variety of clients in both the public and private sectors in Australia, the UK and Asia. A member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, he is a Board member of the Australasian Sonographers Association and Connect Health & Community, also sitting on relevant finance, audit, risk and governance committees.
He is passionate about assisting organisations to become as efficient and effective as possible. In achieving this, he has particular focus on strategic design, sustainability and leveraging innovative technologies and information analytics underpinned by strong governance and risk management.
Vincenzo (Vince) S Pirrottina – Treasurer
Diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in childhood, Vince now lives in the community with his wife.
He is an advocate on disability issues, was a guest speaker at the launch of the Companion Card and various conferences over the years. Vince has written for publications and has been interviewed by newspapers about his experience of disability. Vince participated on a Yooralla video project called INTERACTION and was an original committee member at the CAE, to make adult education more accessible. A member of DASSI’s Management Committee over 10 years, one as president and was made a Life Member in 2003.
Currently a member of various committees – LINK’s Committee of Management & Life Member. Vice President of Australian Ventilator Users Network; Ventilator Houses Steering Committee; Darebin DAC (20 years) & Festival committee; Worked on a Photo project and Animation project for Darebin Council. Vince was awarded joint Darebin Citizen of the Year in 2005.
Peter worked as a senior manager at Telstra for 20 years specialising in major service tenders and contracts, risk management for new contracts, and in the development of special service packages.
Peter also served as an Army Reserve Officer for 30 years, rising to the Rank of Brigadier as the Commander of the Reserve in Victoria. He is now the Colonel Commandant, Royal Australian Artillery for Victoria.
He is involved in a number of community and volunteer organisations including Scouts, President of the Defence Reserves Association – Victorian Branch, and a board member of Encompass. He is also a member of Leadership Victoria’s mentoring group and a member of AMES mentoring.
He grew up on a dairy farm near Bacchus Marsh and now lives in Strathmore with his wife Rose and two sons Robert and Paul.
Jacqui Thomson has over 45-years of professional experience in the retail and services sector both as an employee and long-term business proprietor in regional Victoria.
Of Jacqui’s seven-year involvement with CA as a volunteer, three years were spent as Chair, playing a pivotal role in the successful merger with LINK Community Transport.
Jacqui is passionate in ensuring appropriate resourcing and quality services are delivered to the regions.
Dr Kurt Lackovic – Board Member
Dr Kurt Lackovic has over 15 years’ experience in health and medical research, gained from working in Universities and NFPs in both Australia and Europe. He is currently the CEO of Cancer Trials Australia, where he has led significant, national expansion since January 2017.
Kurt has a PhD in chemistry, MBA from Melbourne Business School, and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is a member of the Licensing Executives Society of Australia and New Zealand, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society for Clinical Research Sites and AusBiotech’s Clinical Trial Advisory Group.
Kurt is passionate about assisting organisations to realise their full potential, through clear definition and revision of strategy and efficient prosecution against that. Kurt has a particular interest in the application of information management tools to support organisations. In his spare time, Kurt enjoys cycling long distances, photography and spending time with his family, which includes two young boys.
